BIOGRAPHY

Tina Alonzo ;(pronouns she/her/hers) is the Executive Vice President of Administration (EVPA) DEI Administrator, providing leadership for the strategic planning, development and implementation of the overarching diversity, equity, and inclusion agenda, initiatives, and strategic plan to the entire EVPA portfolio.

Tina served as the unit’s diversity, equity and inclusion administrator for MSU Infrastructure Planning and Facilities, where she demonstrated an exceptional ability to provide cohesive strategic vision and leadership to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community, culture, and climate. Prior to this, she served as the primary lead and liaison for the Employee Resource Network program, annual conference, and intern projects program at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.

In 2021, Tina was a recipient of the DEI Champion award recognized by the National Diversity Council. She also received the 2019 Diversity MBA Top 100 under 50 award, recognizing her as an emerging leader in DEI, and a nominee for the BCBSM Supplier Diversity Team Project award.

She currently serves on several university committees, including the MSU Global DEI Task Force, Multicultural Center Planning Committee, and Policy Library Advisory Committee. She is the Vice Chair of the Women’s Advisory Committee for Support Staff (WACSS) and is a member of the Michigan Diversity Council Advisory Board; certified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI); Certified Human Resources Specialist (CHRS); Certified Manager (CM); Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified; and has certificates in DEI and emerging leadership.

Throughout her career, Tina has consistently built relationships with diverse stakeholder groups at all levels and inspired excellence in delivering results and achieving goals. She is passionate about making a difference where all employees and campus community members, are welcomed, supported, and valued.
